Congratulations to our client, Magnavale, on securing CEBA’s Built By The Best Award for 2025.
The Magnavale Chesterfield project will deliver a new warehouse and plant room that will be linked to the existing Magnavale cold store, (also known as store 3) on Park Road, Holmewood Industrial Park, Southeast of Chesterfield.
The cold store will have a gross internal area of circa 86,111 SF, (8,000 m2) and be able to accommodate 24.8K pallets at minus 20 degrees Celsius. Servicing will be via its own dedicated level unloading lowered service yard, with four HGV dock levellers.
IBO Construction Ltd. are the main contractors responsible for procurement and delivery of the project. Site setup and excavation began early February 2023. Construction of the main new warehouse began in April with the casting of the concrete bases. The completion date will be in June 2024.
Working with IBO Construction we are delighted to begin the on-site design element of the extension to Magnavales Warrington coldstore. With a footprint of 2,800m2 the extension will provide an additional capacity of 8,400 pallets.
We are delighted to be working with McLaren Construction to deliver one of the largest automated rackclad highbay cold stores in the northern hemisphere. With a capacity of 100,000 pallets, the 45m high coldstore reflects the changing needs of the food storage industry. Due on site in September 2021 with a completion date of 2023
Warehousing and distribution specialists, Aztek Logistics appointed Campus Park who designed and obtained planning permission for a new 25,000 sq. ft. extension to their existing 70,000 sq. ft. premises at Works Road, Letchworth Garden City.
The 12m high extension incorporates, 2 loading doors, lighting, racking, extended CCTV and 2 storey offices fronting the road. It replaces a 1960’s built prefabricated concrete office building.
The site being a former gas works site necessitated consultation with the Environment Agency regarding drainage and control of soil bound contaminants.
Campus’s design is now incorporated in the construction contract which should commence in quarter one 2015.

Construction design and engineering consultant Campus Park was appointed by L’Oréal UK Ltd to design a new extension at its Trafford Park site in Manchester. Campus Park worked with L’Oréal to obtain planning consent and was then retained by Chalcroft Construction to provide detailed design for the construction phase.
Cosmetics giant L’Oréal has invested more than £2m in extending its distribution centre at Trafford Park, Manchester.
The project was completed by leading warehouse and distribution construction company, Chalcroft, and saw the facility extended by 5,000 sq metres to 27,000 sq metres.
Stephan Coutelen, country supply chain director at L’Oréal, said: “The expansion at Trafford Park reflects the importance of this warehouse and distribution centre to the business. L’Oréal has set an ambitious sustainable growth target to win one billion new consumers worldwide by 2020. The UK will play an integral role in achieving this target.”
Jonathan Smith, lead designer for Campus Park, said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with L’Oreal at this key logistics site. We have worked closely with L’Oreal and the main contractor to ensure that disruption to L’Oreal’s operation is kept to an absolute minimum while maintaining key programme and cost targets.”
